Help Chloe Elder Make a Difference in Thailand

Hi, I'm Chloe Elder, a sophomore at Natick High School. Recently, I discovered a remarkable opportunity that allows me to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people worldwide who are in greater need than I am. Every day, I am reminded of the privilege and luck that come with my current circumstances. Therefore, this experience will serve as a foundation for future acts of service, and motivate me to do more.

I am excited to share that my upcoming service trip will take place in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. On this adventure, students like myself will be able to engage with the Thai youth as well as Asian elephants. During this service trip, we will be traveling to rural primary schools in Thailand to help students learn English as well as travel to local elephant sanctuaries to help with rehabilitation. After decades of exploitation, there is much work to be done to restore the natural behaviors of Asian elephants. These elephants are an integral part of Thai culture and their conservation is necessary as elephant populations dwindle. Through teaching English and helping to restore Asian elephant habitats, I hope to make an impact on rural communities in Thailand and raise awareness about how others may do the same.

Moreover, a portion of my tuition will directly support our service partners. This financial contribution covers the expenses of the service project and the salaries of professionals who guide and manage the project. In some cases, this funding may also ensure the sustainability of their work year-round, contributing to their overall operations.

With all of this in mind, I would like to thank anyone who has taken the time to read my story or who may be considering a donation. While these global issues may persist, our collective efforts can help alleviate them, and I am excited to take part in this initiative. I hope to come out of this experience with a new perspective and motivation to explore more opportunities like this. I also hope to inspire others to engage with global issues, as small actions can make a significant difference. Your contribution and support will allow me to embark on this experience and afterwards, spread awareness about it.
