Chivette Holiday Drive
Donation protected
While some of us have begun to recover from the chaos the world has seen in the last couple of years, not everyone has been as fortunate. I’m sure we all know someone that is still struggling, whether it be related to Covid, a loss of a loved one, tragedy, health struggles or just old-fashioned bad luck.
As Chivers, we strive to make the world 10% better and we don’t discriminate in who we help or why we help, we do it because it’s the right thing to do. Last year, we proved this by raising nearly $18,000 for families struggling through Covid so that they could enjoy their holiday season. The outpouring of support the Chivettes saw was overwhelming and just proved to us that we belong to the best community of humans possible.
We learned a few months ago that for one of last year’s recipients, it was the last Christmas they were able to celebrate before passing away. The loss is heartbreaking and our hearts went out to their family. They were incredibly thankful to the community for helping give their kiddo an amazing last Christmas. This is why we Chive…this is why we love this community and this is why we’re going to smash last year’s goal.
The donations the Chivettes received last year were used to buy gifts for babies, children, teenagers, siblings, parents and even grandparents that just needed a little help. However, what we noticed was beyond heartbreaking. Several of the families listed not just toys but clothing and food and said that’s what they needed most. This year, we want to accommodate those needs!! So, this year’s donations will be used to buy gift cards for the families to be used towards food, clothing and gifts. We want full bellies, warm bodies and smiles on faces!!
The families and individuals nominated have all endured extreme hardship in this last year and they are in desperate need of a helping hand. Let’s help ease the burden placed on these individuals and give them a little holiday joy!
Any funds that we can’t give evenly to the families or in time for the Christmas holiday will be donated to The Gathering Place in Denver, CO.
