With every Chimbites event, our goal is to raise funds to support like-minded organizations who focus on funnelling financial aid to Queer, Migrant, LGBTQIA+ and Racialized folks both locally and internationally. We are creating this emergency fund to support two amazing grassroots organizations doing unique and impactful work: Lxs Locxs Foundation (COL), and AGIR (Tiotia:ke), destined to aid displaced/Queer and Trans migrant communities.

 

Lxs Locxs Foundation is a community organization based in Bogotá, Colombia, that supports LGBTQI+ folks in vulnerable situations, mainly Trans individuals, migrants and sex workers, through community building, advocacy, collective learning, and artistic and cultural creation.

 

AGIR is a by-and-for community organization based in Tiotia:ke that supports LGBTQI+ migrants with social, legal and system navigation from an anti-oppressive perspective advocating for our communities.

 

To raise awareness of this fundraiser, we are donating 50% of the proceeds from our Summer Fantasy Festival. We will be showcasing Queer and Trans emerging artists from the global south, hosting a community panel, and inaugurating a VR digital platform by and for us . By buying a ticket to this event, you are directly supporting the work of Queer and Trans emerging artists, community organizers and activists.
