Chillie Willie Mustang Lounge: A Community's Heart Needs You

On Monday, July 7, 2025, tragedy struck our family. Someone intentionally set fire to the porch area at the Mustang Lounge. Mustang Lounge is a beloved historical bar in the San Antonio, Texas community. This isn’t just any bar – it’s been a cornerstone of our community for over 40 years, serving generations of locals, musicians, travelers, and friends from all walks of life.

Chillie Willie Mustang Lounge was opened by my father, Lee Collins, aka "Red," and my uncle, Chillie Willie. The walls of this establishment hold many stories – from concerts by some of the best blues singers to the San Antonio Negro Baseball League gatherings, countless first dates, celebrations, sweet 16s, marriage proposals, wedding receptions, and countless memories. It is a living piece of our city’s soul.

While the building suffered significant damage, the spirit of Chillie Willie lives on. With your help, we can rebuild, restore, and preserve the history that makes this place so special.
