Support the mission of Creative Kids Playhouse Children's Theatre of Orange County to bring quality theatre education, in a fun and encouraging environment, to youth across OC.
CKP has so much going on! We will have produced 32 musicals in 2016, bringing us to a whopping 122 since we were founded in 2011. We produce musicals for a variety of age groups, for the community to enroll in as well as school musicals. We are in the second year of implementing our Theater In Action programming, which brings Theater Education to every student in every classroom of the schools who have signed up.
We recognize that theater education develops more skills and abilities than initially meets the eye. In addition to teaching kids how to communicate using their voice and body, theatre education unlocks a part of the brain that looks at problems from a different point of view. It helps with reading and pre-reading skills, empathy, teamwork, confidence, and understanding body language.
We've seen the impact that CKP has had on individuals. They are equipped to go forward in life with a battery of skills that are not taught in schools these days, and will set them up for success.
This #GivingTuesday drive will fund scholarships for 2017. We try to give out 1-3 scholarships for every show that we produce. Your gift will go directly into our scholarship fund.
Gifts on #GivingTuesday of over $50 will receive an autographed copy of the Christmas in Neverand Show Program.
