Building a home for orphans in Busuole, Butalejia, Uganda

Hello, my name is Apostle Elizabeth Wamaitha Kang’atta; I am a Christian missionary, women’s & children’s rights advocate and human rights lawyer in Kenya. My ministry is based between Munich, Germany, and my homeland, Kenya, and Uganda. I have also been involved in many missionary activities in many countries around the world.

I am currently working with our ministry partners in our Ugandan chapter on a project that will build community and provide for the basic needs of orphans and widows in the small, remote, and underserved village of Busolwe, in Butaleja, Uganda.

The children's home has been in existence for several years, and it shares a 3-acre compound with a small church that serves the children and the neighboring community. The home has housed over 45 children in the past, with over 15 of them leaving to seek employment upon becoming young adults. We currently have 29 children whose ages range from 1 year to 16 years, and widows who help care for them.

We previously housed the children in a large mud hut. Unfortunately, following the severe floods last year, the structure is now extremely dilapidated and is at risk of collapse. I am asking for your help to provide funds to complete a much-needed new structure, which is needed to safely and comfortably house the orphans and the widows who care for them. "The Jesus Home," as we call it, will also facilitate Christian educational services to some of the neediest children in this region.

With the support of well-wishers, we began constructing Phase 1 of the children's home three weeks ago. This first structure, when complete, will house the girls we have adopted in the home and provide sanitation facilities for all the children, next to the building.

Phase 2, a similar building, will house the boys in separate quarters. Lastly, in Phase 3, we aim to construct a third structure to accommodate the women of God, along with the widows caring for the children, and provide a standard room and a kitchen where they can eat and gather. We are believing God for provision and grace to fulfil this mandate.
