Children's Community School: Climbing High and Digging Deep

The Children's Community School is a non-profit pre-school and early childhood education center in West Philadelphia.

We believe that kids and adults should be supported and cherished to honor their whole selves, ignite curiosity, and learn through play. We believe all families should be welcomed and celebrated. We believe in mud puddles and block towers, in silly dances and in story times, and in climbing high and in digging deep.

But we need your support. Each year, we rely on fundraising to help limit tuition increases as much as possible for families while still providing respectful compensation for our extraordinary staff, maintaining our beautiful space, and participating in public subsidy programs like PHLPreK that undervalue the costs of high-quality early childhood education.

2024 brought significant internal growth for CCS as our staff and community worked together carefully to invest in stronger relationships, clearer communications, and more sustainable systems to support the school's future. Together, we've increased benefits for our staff, provided tuition subsidies and scholarships for families in need, and begun the crucial work of reckoning with CCS's role in serving and reflecting our community.
