The FSC Academy is delighted to welcome on board Children’s Cancer North as our chosen charity for the 2024/25 season and will be the main sponsors for our U9s Reds JPL Squad shirts

Starting this season the FSC Academy will be raising funds every year for a different charity.

With many fundraisers going ahead such as Academy Director Sam Shaw running the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 27th April we are excited to raise as many funds as possible.  

Our first being very close to our FSC Families hearts and after hearing and seeing the fantastic work this organisation has done for our FSC Family we were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with them. With our story about Oscar,

Oscar's Dad: "I get updates from Dad about Sid's football every week, it's clear he loves spending time following Sid's football journey and the FSC family mean a huge amount to him. When I heard you wanted to support Children's Cancer North (CCN) charity this year, I was blown away by the gesture. We have been through a torrid time this year as a family, my son, Jim's grandson, Oscar, was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour in May. Oscar has received fabulous medical care from the team at the Great North Children's Hospital, his course of chemotherapy is well underway now and due to finish early next year. When something so unexpected and scary happens, it's not just medical support that is needed and that's where CCN has stepped in and helped us as a family. They helped us financially when we had to relocate to Manchester for 6 weeks to start treatment, they fund regular entertainment on the children's oncology wards, they organise Christmas and Summer parties for the children and families amongst many other things. Some of these may not sound like huge events, but when your going through life changing events, little moments of joy and respite really make a massive difference.

In September I ran the Great North Run for CCN and raised over £5000. So I'm delighted that you are taking up the baton and going to continue to raise money for such a great cause. Children’s Cancer North is an independent charity with over 40 years of heritage in supporting individuals and families affected by childhood cancer.
