Children United

Children United is dedicated to raising the funds necessary to construct a playground specifically for the disabled children and citizens of our community. This playground will adjoin the existing playground located at Elmer Thomas Park and will offer a special surface that is wheelchair compatible, ramps, wheelchair swings, wheelchair merry-go-rounds, and much more. Currently, children with special needs in our community, have no place to play. All they can do is observe their siblings and playmates. Children United, with your help, would like to change that.

We are operating under the umbrella of the Lawton Enhancement Authority, a 501 (c) (3) Corporation. So - your donation is tax deductible. We have completed Phase 1 - which was to raise sufficient funds to purchase the main frame. Phase 2 is in process now. We are raising $220,000 which will be applied to the special surface needed to accommodate wheelchairs, braces, walkers, etc. Your donation will be applied accordingly. We hope to have the funds necessary by the summer of 2022.
