Childcare Mission: My Volunteer Journey to Tanzania
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aminah, and in'sha'allah this July I will be travelling to Tanzania to volunteer with IVHQ in a life-changing program, focused on childcare and supporting the less fortunate families in rural areas. I'm starting this fundraiser because I deeply believe in helping the less fortunate - and I'm committed to being a part of something bigger than myself.
The reason I am doing this is simple: I want to give my time and effort to support those who don't have access to the same opportunities and resources many of us have. I'll be working with local childcare centres, assisting with daily routines, learning activities, and offering support wherever it is needed. I also plan on taking small gifts - school supplies, books and toys - to give to the children, something of their own to enjoy. Beyond that, I'll be helping with school rebuilding efforts, contributing to projects that give the children a safe and supportive learning spaces they deserve. It's not about fixing everything - it's about showing up, being present and doing what I can.
Many schools are overcrowded, underfunded, and lacking in basic resources and not all families can afford school supplies, uniforms or transportation which can make regular attendance difficult.
Early childhood education and childcare are also underdeveloped in many regions. Many young children are left without structured learning environments, emotional support or access to safe, engaging spaces to grow and develop.
That's why volunteer programs like the one I'm joining through are so important. Volunteers help fill some of the gaps - supporting teachers, offering individual attention to children, helping rebuild schools and simply being a caring presence in their day-to-day lives. Every bit of support brings me one step closer to making a difference - no matter how small it might be.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting.
