Child Financial Support

Hi everyone. Unfortunately my mother passed away tragically and very unexpectedly on 8/22/19. I don’t want to get in to the intimate details, but my 15 yr old brother was present and it has been very traumatic for him. I had just happened to fly in from Boston that morning for my older brothers funeral as he was recently killed in a car accident. I have my little brother with me, while I wait for an emergency guardianship hearing. In an instant I went from being responsible only for myself, to having to care for a grieving child. At this time I have to stay in California and be available for court hearings as well as care for my brother while I try to find a new job and a place for us to live as well as figuring out what to do about my apartment in Boston, and how to get all my stuff here. I don’t enjoy asking for help and I especially do not enjoy asking for money. Anyone who knows me also knows that I am self sufficient and pride myself on independence. That being said, I am scared. My mom left nothing for us and no arrangements for my brothers care. She did not have him enrolled in a school and and left no organized healthcare information so his siblings (my step siblings) are trying to help me sift through mass amounts of disorganized paperwork as we search for answers and try to also find care for their father who is ill and now needs a new caretaker as well.  We lost my 16 yr old sister 8 years ago. My brother has been through a lot in his 15 years, and until I figure this all out the fact is I need help. I need to provide him with shelter, new clothes, school supplies and food. Losing our mother so suddenly and tragically is hard enough and everything is very complicated right now. Any help is very appreciated.
