Hi, I am Elena and I am fundraising for my husband, the 1st Chief Officer, the citizen of Finland, who was working on the bulk carrier Phoenician-M. In October 2023 he and his crew were arrested in Turkey and were put to prison for 1 year without any evidence, after drugs were found in the tanks of their vessel. Turkish authorities didn't find any proofs that the crew was involved in smuggling, no finger prints, nothing. The crew wasn't even shown the drugs which were found on the vessel and no photos or videos were shown at the hearing!!!! But in September 2024 my husband and the captain of the vessel were sentenced to 30 years without any explanations. The whole marine industry is shocked, you can find news about our case in a lot of mass media. The captain Marco Becavac and my husband Ali Albokhari are innocent and all the international organisations support us. Now we are preparing appeal and we need a few lawyers (both in criminal and marine cases). We will need money to pay to the lawyers and ask for help. Me and my husband got married not so long ago, we are a young family and can't afford paying such amount to the lawyers. My husband doesn't have any criminal record, he was working 10 years as a seaman and never had any problems. The Ministry of Foreign affairs of Finland is aware of the case. Almost 2 years I am alone in this fight, trying to save my husband. Please, save our family and help us set Ali free.
