Chicago Mutual Aid Gardens builds free, edible gardens in front yards, parkways, and other publicly accessible spaces using mutual aid and exchange practices. Any food grown in these gardens will be available to anyone in the community!
Our goal is to build food security through out Chicago by making food and the ability to grow food available to everyone regardless of class, income, race or ability. By growing food where we stand we insure the resilience of individuals and prosperity of our communities.
It costs about $125 (plus soil) to build each garden, if we raise $2,500 we can build 20 gardens!
When stand together, we are strong, when we grow together, we stay fed!
