Chicago Build Project

Hello I'm Martell T. McGee. Born, raised, and stay in Chicago. I'm a son, brother, and father with 43 years in the city. I'm here seeking other like minded individual that are interested in making that stay here in Chicago a better one. During these grave times I would stress and wonder what can I do in the "New Norm". I worried about sending my children back to CPS in a city where their appeared to be already neglected in their community. I started to recall what great things I received while there and the only things I could recall was the personable lesson from Coach about what it is to be a man. I remember my student counselor helping me gage my mindset as my brain started to catch up with my body. To put it simple life lessons held more value then the whole CPS systems. The great things I received were the people that added value to the system. Then it hit me. What if the youth and young adults had a place to concentrate on life lessons? A place focused on things they needed to survive early on. Teaching them from the simple things to the more complicated like as follows.

*Financial Literacy.
*Entrepreneurship.
*Community Outreach.
*Community Invest.
*Basic skills in maintenance and repair in house and automotive.
*Community Policing.
*Self Reliance.
*Physical/Mental Health.
*Conflict Resolution.
*Self Defense.
ETC...........

  I started to search many different organizations that may have already started such things that out of the few they were very limited in my community. I looked into centers that if I wasn't looking hard during some research I won't even known they we there and most had outreach in their titles. Guess where I stay doesn't fit the bill. With that said. With your help we will build a community center within the area thats in need. Preferably the 79th street area west of the Dan Ryan Expressway. Your donation are well welcome but your skills and talents may go a longer way if your interested in making this journey. It will be well appreciated. I'm search of people in the disciplines of the points I mention in the points above.  Also in you have a background and currently working in the following fields.

*Investment/Grants.
*Realtor in Commercial/Industrial Property. 
*Construction.
*Community Service.
*Volunteers.
*Building Engineer.
*Architect.
*Instructor of Trades in multiple Disciplines (Carpenters/Mechanics/Body Work/Plumbing/HVAC/Brick Manson/Self Defense/Commercial Drivers/etc......).
*Social Services.  
*Therapist.
*Health Providers.
*Fitness.

 This campaign and funds will first be use for acquisition and development of land for center. I'm looking to develop a community commission board to oversee dates, goals, and progress for this journey. I'm open to ideas as I move forth with this campaign.
