Chester Le Street Activity Week Monday 4th August 2025

After 18 years of growing the Activity week in Chester-Le-Street Marketplace with a startup cost of £350 it attracted approximately five hundred young people who all attended this FREE police event. Durham Agency Against Crime are now helping and supporting the Police in delivering this FREE Family event, in Chester-Le-Street.

Over the years we have grown and moved the event to a large, grassed area at Burns Green, near Cone Terrace and the swimming baths at Chester-le-Street. Over the last two years the event has grown and attracted near to 25,000 visitors over the week. Due to the number of activities, we offer and striving to keep it FREE to attend, the costs have risen over the years, and it now costs in the region of £30,000 to fund this event. The police must find the funds through sponsorships and donations to put this event on for the community. Adrian & Christine from Chester-Le-Street police have organised this themselves in previous years, but now Christine has retired, it is time for more people to get involved and help us out with funding and support the 2025 event as well as beyond, to keep this event alive and in Chester-Le-Street. Due to financial restraints from some organisations, we are looking to open “A GO FUND ME ACCOUNT” Where local business, organisations and members of the public can help by donating, a one-off set amount, which will help us reach our goal and deliver the Burns Green full of FREE Activities again this summer.

Amounts will range from, £5, £10, £20 or any other amount. £££
