The University of Lethbridge Chess for Life program supports the advancement of youth chess activities that increase and improve cognitive development, critical thinking, and memory skills in youth. The funds raised from the November 7 Chess-a-Thon will allow Chess for Life to purchase chess boards and resource material to donate to under-resourced schools in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta. The money raised will also provide in-school chess instruction for teachers and students.
