Cherwell Community Larder is an emergency larder supported by SOFEA and FareShare. We are part of the COVID response in Cherwell supported by our local council: http://www.kidlington-pc.gov.uk/Covid19_HELP__30728.aspx
URGENT APPEAL: Our regular food supply will be stopped for the first week of June. to give SOFEA volunteers a break... they have been working nonstop to pack 3000 of these a week and have done for 10 weeks straight. We need an additional £2500 to keep operations running and allow SOFEA to regroup.
We provide weekly food parcels to households in need in our community. We are now providing 175 parcels a week, and it's clear families need more support.
In addition to our regular food parcels, we have 50 families who regularly need:
special dietary items (gluten free, diabetic, pre-made)
for some families we have also supplied appliances and clothing.
Our families have lost wages or been furloughed, and many are shielding due to vulnerabilities.
Until now we haven't been accepting monetary donations, but as the lockdown continues it's clear people need more support.
Any money you give will be used to purchase items our households need and request from us directly. Whenever possible we do ask local businesses to donate these items as well. We also have several groups of volunteers who regularly donate items by adding one or two extras to their regular shops.
Please give what you can to help your community through this lockdown.
