Cherwell Community Larder is an emergency larder supported by SOFEA and FareShare. We are part of the COVID response in Cherwell supported by our local council: http://www.kidlington-pc.gov.uk/Covid19_HELP__30728.aspx
URGENT APPEAL: We are in need of nappies, toiletries, loo roll, and pet food. Anything you can give is helpful.
We provide weekly food parcels to households in need in our community. We are now providing 130 parcels a week, as lockdown easing meant some people could go back to work. However, it's clear families now need more support as redundancies replace furloughs.
In addition to our regular food parcels, we have 50 families who regularly need:
special dietary items (gluten free, diabetic, pre-made)
for some families we have also supplied appliances and clothing.
Our families have lost wages or been furloughed, and many are shielding due to vulnerabilities.
Any money you give will be used to purchase items our households need and request from us directly. Whenever possible we do ask businesses to donate these items as well. We also have several groups of volunteers who regularly donate items by adding one or two extras to their regular shops.
Please give what you can to help your community through this lockdown.
