With respect to the construction debris that builds up every winter on our beautiful Cherry Grove beach, a volunteer effort has been organized by Daniel Nardicio next Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th from 12-3. Our mission is to organize the lumber and garbage in piles along the beach. What we can bag and have regular trash collection pick up is helpful and necessary, however the bulk items that can’t be removed need addressing. Any one with chainsaws' please come on down and help cut up some posts, stairs, etc...bring a crowbar, drill gun or just your bare hands... but be safe!
A group of us are working in conjunction with CGCAI to raise money to hire a contractor to truck off the construction debris littering our beach.
We are starting this GO FUND ME page with the sole purpose to pay for garbage removal as neither FINS nor the TOB will do this for us. So here we go! Please make a pledge and we ask all individuals and organizations in Cherry Grove to consider pledging. This beach clean up is an issue we have every spring and does not fall under the jurisdiction of a particular group but we do need to clean our beach for so many reasons. All will benefit so please show some of that community spirit Cherry Grove is famous for and lets get this done.
