Update: Our Cherish Ladies have done it! The walk was completed as planned in August. We are so grateful for all your donations, but we still have a long way to go. December can be a difficult time for many of us. The days are shorter; the expense of the holidays; and the cold weather can make people feel very low. Having seen the loneliness and struggles of people in Swansea, our group was formed to help those in need of some connection.

The Cherish Ladies group aims to give something special back to the community in Swansea. We are a group of women who organise an annual Christmas Party to bring people together, while celebrating African and Caribbean culture. Especially for those people missing their loved ones, the party offers the chance to connect with others, making friends and lighting the way to a brighter and closer community.

Last year, we had over 60 attendees to the Christmas party, with food, music, dancing and activities for the children! We know their are more people in need of this vital connection point across the city. Our Christmas party must keep growing to reach those in need.

In previous years, we have self funded the party. With more people wanting to attend this year's event, we need your help to keep the event going!

To reflect Swansea's community by the sea, and to help us put on an even bigger and better Christmas Party, we are raising money for the event through walking from Swansea's Civic Centre to the Blackpill Lido.
