Chen's family 2nd adoption from Korea

Hi friends and family!

Yes, we're adopting our 2nd child from Korea! We've been matched and is in the final stages, and traveling to Korea early next year for our custody.

If you didn't follow our story for our 1st adoption, you can read about our sharing here: https://www.lovewhatmatters.com/try-to-have-your-own-children-first-but-we-wanted-to-adopt-our-son-pushed-us-away-we-cried-with-guilt-after-infertility-journey-parents-adopt-from-china-he-b/

Adoption is such a beautiful and loss journey, both for us and Nathan.

From the time we planted the belief that we should one day adopt children, to years of infertility, tears, frustration, healing. restarting the process, paperwork and resources, seeing Nathan's photo the first time, first meet, court, custody, the flight back, and having Nathan at home with us.

Along the way, we received much support from our close friends and family, either through prayer, parenting advice, bringing us food and baby toys, etc.

However, if you read our sharing for our 1st adoption, we also had a lot of moments where we also realize we're quite alone in this journey. We realize that adoption is not viewed or celebrated the same way among American culture and Asian culture. Chatting with any adoptive parents coming from any Asian country, it's also a known fact that very rarely you'll find or hear anyone that's adopting.

Judy and I have realized we should be more vocal about adoption if you follow our vlogs from Itschenslife, or our Instagram stories, or Youtube. Even though our views are always consistently low among our Asian friends, we still continued as it's more of a mission to us.

Why I'm sharing all this in our 2nd adoption post fundraiser?

Besides us deciding to adopt our 2nd child from Korea, I believe the mission of evangelizing adoption in Asian countries is also where a big piece of our heart is. Visiting the orphanages both in Taiwan and Korea, and hearing the stories of the children and what they go through, it's certainly burdened our hearts as there are very few that's willing to adopt from the same country.

I'd like to extend an invitation to not just support our journey to adopt our 2nd child, but also the journey to continue to share our story adopting Nathan and our new child, and continue to talk about how God wants us to look after the widows and the orphans.

If you believe in what we do, love to invite you to have the opportunity to invest in our mission and our trip, as we're truly thankful for all the support we had and continue to have in the future.
