Chelsea's School Rennovation Project Uganda
Donazione protetta
In November 2021, I quit my tech job and went to Uganda to evaluate a program run by an American NGO. On a Saturday, I had the privilege of meeting some children having their therapy sessions outside a school. Most of these children have emotional and traumatic issues. Some were born in captivity when the militia kidnaped their mothers.
The school currently has 2 blocks. Each block has 4 classrooms. There are 1602 students. Yes, 1602 in 8 classrooms. The primary children sits on the dirty floors. They have no chairs. Part of this rennovation will include my building 200-500 benches for them to sit on. How many I can go through depends very much on how much I can raise. Another big job is to make concrete flooring. As you can see, the floors are just rocks and dirt.
These village children need a good place for learning, clean and safe. A place that gives them some dignity.

I found out later that their school has been in disrepair for at least ten years. So I decided to take on this project to provide them with a clean and safe place to learn. It started as a one-woman crusade, but since then, I have partnered with Build a School Foundation (BaSF), which Jimmy Thai founded. My project will receive $5000 midway through the project. I am grateful for the partnership.
But this renovation project requires more money than I had thought. I have two requests:
1) if any of you would like to join me on this fantastic and life-changing adventure
2) if you cannot join me, will you consider donating to my cause? Any amount, no matter how small, would be so very appreciated.
I stepped out on faith. I intend to follow through. Will you partner with me?
