Cooking for Ukraine

My name is Sukhangad Singh and I am a professional Chef working near Nantes, France. I am embarking on a volunteer mission to join the chefs of World Central Kitchen working in Przemyśl, Poland at the border of Ukraine.

 

As a trained chef I can be there to help with food safety, mass production, and logistics. To cook and to serve has always been essential for me, so it's an obvious answer that I go there and provide my immediate help on the ground.

I know World central kitchen because in February 2022 when Cyclone Batsirai hit the east coast of Madagascar, WCK’s Relief Team arrived immediately after to begin supporting displaced families. I couldn’t go to Madagascar for this mission but I saw their work through my friends who are living in Madagascar. This time I am using my vacation days and leaving for the polish-Ukrainian border to cook some meals because that’s what I can do.

In Poland, I will be working with World Central Kitchen (https://wck.org) supporting their efforts to feed refugees escaping the war raging in their country. I have done extensive research on this organization. Started by chef Jose Andres following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, WCK's Chef Relief Teams have done brilliant work in several countries including Madagascar. It inspires me personally, given my career and passion for cooking.

 

I will be in Poland on May 1st. I am paying for all my expenses including My train and flight tickets, accommodation and local transportation. If you are a chef and can afford to take a few days off please consider joining this mission with WCK, they need a lot of people who can cook and there are several slots remaining in April and May.

- all travel and accommodation expenses are being covered by me personally

- I am asking for your help to support part of my expenses

-I also need help with accommodation in Przemysl, Poland

Je m'appelle Sukhangad Singh et je suis un chef professionnel travaillant près de Nantes, en France. Je me lance dans une mission bénévole pour rejoindre les chefs de World Central Kitchen travaillant à Przemyśl, en Pologne, à la frontière de l'Ukraine.

En tant que chef qualifié, je peux être là pour aider à la sécurité alimentaire, à la production de masse et à la logistique. Cuisiner et servir a toujours été essentiel pour moi, c'est donc une réponse évidente que je m'y rende et apporte mon aide immédiate sur le terrain.

Je connais Word Central Kitchen parce qu'en février 2022, lorsque le cyclone Batsirai a frappé la côte est de Madagascar, l'équipe de secours de WCK est arrivée immédiatement après pour commencer à soutenir les familles déplacées. Je n'ai pas pu aller à Madagascar pour cette mission mais j'ai vu leur travail à travers mes amis qui vivent à Madagascar. Cette fois, je profite de mes jours de vacances et je pars pour la frontière polono-ukrainienne pour cuisiner des repas car c'est ce que je peux faire.

En Pologne, je travaillerai avec World Central Kitchen (https://wck.org) pour soutenir leurs efforts pour nourrir les réfugiés fuyant la guerre qui fait rage dans leur pays. J'ai fait des recherches approfondies sur cette organisation. Créées par le chef Jose Andres à la suite du tremblement de terre de 2010 en Haïti, les équipes de secours des chefs de WCK ont fait un travail brillant dans plusieurs pays, dont Madagascar. Cela m'inspire personnellement, compte tenu de ma carrière et de ma passion pour la cuisine.

Je serai en Pologne du 1er mai. Je paie toutes mes dépenses, y compris mes billets de train et d'avion, mon hébergement et mes transports locaux. Si vous êtes un chef et que vous pouvez vous permettre de prendre quelques jours de congé, envisagez de rejoindre cette mission avec WCK, ils ont besoin de beaucoup de personnes capables de cuisiner et il reste plusieurs créneaux en avril et mai.

- tous les frais de voyage et d'hébergement sont couverts par moi personnellement

- Je sollicite votre aide pour prendre en charge une partie de mes dépenses

-J'ai aussi besoin d'aide pour un logement à Przemysl, en Pologne.
