Stand with Chef Oliver: Preserve Homage
Donation protected
A few weeks ago, Chef Oliver (head chef and owner of Homage: Cuisines of the African Diaspora) had to unexpectedly pause Homage services due to medical reasons. He has spent the last several weeks receiving medical treatment and focusing on his health in the hospital. Many folks have reached out with cards, food, visits and phone calls. He has felt unwavering support from his community.
While the road to recovery continues, it will bring some significant change to Homage. He has made the decision to close his Central Market stand where the flavors of diaspora have created lasting memories, and great conversations shared.
Chef Oliver has been both in the kitchen and on the front lines serving and connecting in Lancaster for years.
His dedication to his craft and to this community will continue to show up with his food truck but with Chef taking more of a behind-the-scenes role.
As he continues to navigate what Homage’s new presence will look like, we ask for continued support to keep his journey and work alive, honoring ancestors through food and conversation.
This was created to show Chef Oliver how much this community stands behind him. To show him how his work is valuable here. To embrace him in a critical moment and support him in the many facets of his life.
Please support in whatever means are available to you.
