Cheers for Charity 2025

Hi, it’s Wayne here, landlord of The Turf in Wrexham.

Well, we tried something new in 2024, making it possible to donate online throughout the year to our Cheers for Charity fundraiser. We didn’t really know what to expect, if I’m honest. Thought we might raise a couple of quid, maybe enough to cover a round. Turns out, we raised nearly £9,000. For a pub with a butty van and a bit of ambition, that’s not too shabby, is it?

What really made it special was where the donations came from. People from right here in Wrexham chipped in, as you’d expect this town always shows up when it matters. Then there were ex-pats missing home who still keep Wrexham close to their hearts. And there was support from people all over the world, proving that our little corner of North Wales has a reach far beyond the borders

So yes, Cheers for Charity is back for 2025. The donation page is live, and as always, every penny goes straight to local Wrexham charities. No faff, no admin fees, just good people helping good causes. We’re keeping it simple, because let’s be honest — it works.

To everyone who supported us last year, diolch. You’ve made this little idea into something that actually matters. Proof that even in a pub full of banter, kindness gets the last word.

Right then. Another year of making a difference? Let’s crack on.
