A Heartfelt Plea from a Mum and Dad Climbing for Love, Loss, and Hope…

On October 15th, Steve and I will be climbing Mount Snowdon.

Not for fun. Not for fitness.

But for our daughter Leoni, who was born sleeping seven years ago on that very day.
And for our son Leon, who is autistic, non-verbal, and shows us strength in the quietest of ways every single day.

We are doing this in memory of the daughter we never got to take home, and in honour of the son who teaches us what love really means.

We are raising money for two causes that are woven into the fabric of our lives:

️ The Blossom Suite at Broomfield Hospital – where we held Leoni for the first and last time. They gave us time, care, and dignity when our world fell apart.

Chatten Free School – where Leon is understood, supported, and celebrated. They go above and beyond in ways we never imagined a school could.

I’ll be honest… I hate walking. I avoid it at all costs.

But this mountain? We need to climb it.

Because it’s the only way we know how to honour our children – both the one we hold in our arms, and the one we hold in our hearts.

The path we’re taking, the Pyg and Miners’ Tracks, is tough. It’ll take most people 6–8 hours. It’ll take us longer.

But every step, every ache, every breathless moment will be for Leoni, for Leon, and for families like ours.

If you can, please donate.

Whatever you give will go directly to helping families facing the unimaginable, and children like Leon who just need the right support to thrive.

We’re not just climbing a mountain. We’re climbing for love, for loss, for hope.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Helen & Steve Rowe
