Help Restore the Sandstone Façade of Almost a Château

We’re Deanne and Richard, an Australian couple restoring La Maison Lumière in France’s wine country and sharing our journey on YouTube as Almost a Château & on Chateau DIY Australia.

So many of you have commented on our sandstone façade and asked about restoring it. We’d love to give it the care it deserves, so we’ve made it the focus of this fundraiser for anyone who would like to help.

The carved sandstone façade helped us fall in love with this old house. We’re now raising funds to carefully clean it, repair damaged stonework and preserve its original craftsmanship.

Our first milestone is €5,000 for scaffolding alone. This provides safe access to the façade; specialist assessment, cleaning and repairs will need additional funding. We’ll share those costs as quotations are confirmed.

We’ve already invested more than €50,000 in protecting the roof, and continue to contribute our own funds and hands-on work.

Your donations will go towards this façade project. We’ll share progress and how funds are used here and on YouTube.

Every contribution—and every share—helps us take the next step. Thank you for being part of our story.
