My name is Mahmoud Jawad, I am 22 years old, and I live in the Gaza Strip with my family in what remains of our home after it was destroyed in the recent war. I had to rent a small room, and we all share it, but it is overcrowded and barely fits us. We try to cope with the harshness of life. Before the war, I dreamed of completing my university studies at the University of Palestine, which was completely destroyed by the occupation. My ambition was to finish my bachelor’s degree, get a suitable job, and build my future step by step. Now, my simplest wish is for the war to end, to live with my family in a safe home that accommodates us all, and to resume my path toward education and work. Despite all the hardships, I hold on to hope and believe that the future holds new opportunities for me.
