Charlotte's Eagle Service Project

A Letter from a future Lady Eagle scout.

Hi, my name is Charlotte Denuzzio and I need help. I am a 17 yrs. old Junior at Martin County High School & I’m working on my Eagle Award and Service Project as a Scout BSA. Since its inception in 1911, I hope to become one of the 4% of Scouts who earned this prestigious title. The Eagle Scout rank has been earned by over 2.5 million youths. I have chosen for my Eagle Service Project to design, fundraise, and install, a Florida Native butterfly garden at Stuart Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Stuart, with the help of my community volunteers & businesses.

I've selected this center because my wheelchair bound Nana resides there along with 120 other elderly residents for which many of them are wheelchair bound or need assistance with mobility. They typically spend most of their time indoors watching the community television or in their small rooms. I need your assistance to help me transform their neglected and barren outdoor patio space into a beautiful and colorful butterfly haven for my Nana and the residents to enjoy in their final days/months/years. How excited they will be to have butterflies visit them since many of them do not have families that visit them?

I have estimated this native butterfly garden will cost approx. $2900 to build. Will you help me with this project and improve the lives of the long-term residents? Any contribution or donation of supplies, no matter the amount will bring sunshine to their lives.
