Hi, I'm Charlotte.
Currently, I am a Sixth Form student raising money towards a volunteering trip to Cambodia in summer 2026. I will travel with my school, Camps International and other volunteers to play an active part in vital project work (such as building wells and toilets, working on school improvement projects and taking part in farming and reforestation).
I have many different activities planned over the coming months including cake bake sales, sponsored hikes, bike rides and much more to raise the funds needed to pay for this trip.
I appreciate your donation as it will help me travel to Cambodia where I will be able to help make a difference to the quality of local people's lives.
Why Cambodia? Because...
Democratic kampuchea was one of the worst human tragedies of the 20th century. Nearly two million Cambodians died from diseases due to the lack of medicines and medical services, starvation, execution and exhaustion from overwork. Tens of thousands were made widows and orphans, and those who lived through the disaster were severely traumatised by their experiences. Several hundred thousand Cambodians fled their country and became refugees. Millions of mines were laid by the Khmer Rouge and government forces, which have led to thousands of deaths and disabilities since the 1980s. A large proportion of Cambodian people have mental problems because their family members were lost and their spirit damaged. These factors are one of the major causes of the poverty that plagues Cambodia today.
Thank you for your donation.
