Hi, I'm Charlie, I'm 14 years old and I live on the Isle of Wight. In 2027, I’ll be heading off on an unforgettable expedition with Camps International Kenya Scuba. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines adventure, learning, and giving back—and I’m working hard to make it happen.
I’ve always loved the sea—last year I earned my powerboat licence and I’ve been learning how to map coastal routes. I enjoy sports like football, rugby, and working out at the gym, but my newest passion is cycling. As part of my fundraising, I’m training to cycle the full circumference of the Isle of Wight—about 70 miles!
I care a lot about nature and want to make a difference. As part of my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, I’ve been doing regular beach cleans around the island to help protect our coastlines. The Isle of Wight has recently been awarded UNESCO Biosphere status, and I’m proud to help look after it. I’ve joined Surfers Against Sewage and taken part in the Million Mile Clean, and this year I’m contributing to the Big Seaweed Search to help scientists understand our marine biodiversity better. Over the next two years, I’m aiming to complete my Gold DofE Award.
In Kenya, I’ll be learning how to scuba dive and joining in with real community projects—like building and renovating homes and helping with school improvements. I’ll also help build elephant deterrent fences, which allow animals and people to live in peace.Learning how to scuba dive, explore underwater ecosystems, and deepen my conservation knowledge, It’s about protecting wildlife and supporting the amazing work already being done to restore habitats.
This trip means a lot to me—not just because I’ll get to travel and learn, but because I’ll be doing work that matters. I’d be really grateful for any support to help me get there. Your donation will help cover the costs of this journey and make it possible for me to be part of something bigger than myself.
Thanks for reading and supporting my adventure!
Charlie
