- Hi my name is Sarah and I'm fundraising to help one of my sons football team mates who suffered a life changing injury on christmas day. Charlie is 9 years old On Christmas day Charlie one of our under 10 players had a horrific accident resulting in the loss of sight in his left eye! Charlie has been so brave, he has had 2 separate 5 hour surgeries since Christmas day where the surgeons have done an amazing job and managed to save the eye, however he's not out of the woods yet and there is still a chance he may need further surgery to remove his eye and have a prosthetic eye fitted! Charlie has 2 siblings who have also been affected by the trauma of this and also had their Christmas ruined. Charlie has been so brave and not once complained after everything he has been through. The hope behind this page is to raise some funds so that when Charlie is settled and the family have had time to come to terms with his life changing injury they can go on a holiday and spend some quality time together to recover and make up for the family time they lost together over Christmas
