Charlie cycles 1 mile a day in the holidays
Charlie (and sometimes Isabelle) wants to cycle one mile a day during the summer holidays to raise money. The money will be used for them to buy toys and gifts for children on Robins ward (where I work).
The inspiration came from a "one mile a day during August" campaign which would equate to 31 miles. As he is only 5 and Izzy is only 3, there may be days that they can't do the mile but might be able to do more on another day, so our base distance is 31 miles in total for the summer holidays.
Toys on my ward really help perk the children up, whether they're having an operation or whether they're long stayers and doing lots of Neuro rehabilitation. No child really wants to be in hospital, especially over the summer holidays, so they want to bring a bit of joy
I will do my absolute best to upload video evidence of their efforts to my own Instagram each day, but will likely forget some of the time!
