I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my brother, Braely and his wife Charli. He recently bought a truck that turned out to be stolen. The truck's VIN had been professionally changed, including the internal computer. The police apprehended the vehicle when trying to get the truck inspected. They’ve lost over $40,000 from the thief. The insurance company that paid out the original owner now “owns” the vehicle and is not showing any willingness to make a deal with Braely/Charli in recovering the truck.

This all came as a huge surprise to Braely and Charli as they did their due diligence when purchasing the truck. They triple checked all VINs: dashboard, door frame, internal computer, title, Carfax, and getting it checked at an auto shop. All the right places to ensure the truck was the right purchase. Everything looked good after doing everything to ensure it would be a good purchase, but unfortunately, it wasn’t what they hoped for. They were taken advantage of and lost a great deal of money after saving extra for years. They have been living with family for years to save money to afford a long-lasting vehicle and a house. And if anyone knows Braely and Charli, they know how much they like to save money by only going out to eat if they have a coupon and keeping a close eye on deals. My brother and his wife have been greatly wronged by this professional scammer.

The funds raised will help him cover legal fees, restitution, and recovering the cost of the money lost on the stolen truck. Braely and Charli are currently undergoing police investigations without much progress yet. They are hoping they can get back at least a portion of what was lost. However, the process seems long and could take over a year to solve. They are doing the best they can to fix this problem themselves. They are currently living with family in hopes of gaining back this money before making any big life decisions.
