Mr. Al "Hollywood" Meggett has helped and supported our youth and the Downtown Charleston Community at the same location (1099 King Street) for the past 40 years helping countless children, teenagers, and many others channel their energy, talents, and frustrations in a positive and productive manner. Now he is 90 years old and needs his community to support him and his program.

Two years ago, his boxing program was mandated to close due to the city owned building being old and unsafe so they could repair and renovated it. The building renovations have been completed and it looks great but in order for Mr. Meggett to reopen his boxing gym he needs new boxing gear and equipment for the gym and the boxers. All the old , worn out, and broken equipment was thrown out when the gym was required to shut down.

Mr All "Hollywood" Meggett has always trained his boxers in The Core Principles of Boxing which are Respect, Dedication, Sacrifice, Self-Awareness, Self-Discipline, Self-Control, Self-Accountability, & Sportsmanship so they could continue to use and apply those same core principles in all areas of their life for rest of their life.

The equipment needed consists of a boxing ring, padded sports flooring, gloves, bags, protective and training gear. We lifelong friends and former boxers now parents, trainers & volunteers have set up this fundraiser to help him and his program as he helped us and countless others for the past four decades. Our hope is for his dream and legacy of good-will, care, and compassion to continue while teaching not only boxing skills but most importantly life skills and togetherness. This unmeasurable positive impact on our youth, community, residents, and quality of life is indispensable. The equipment list, images, and pricing is below.

Once donations are raised to purchase we will show all receipts and invite everyone to the new grand opening to actually see everything in action and acknowledge each individual and/or company contributions and support.

The equipment list is not exact (such as mics. items) but is fully operational and some equipment might not be available for shipping so there is a possibility of alternative brands or styles being used but all equipment, orders, and receipts will be documented and accounted.
