Save a barista for the cost of a coffee!
During COVID-19, thousands of coffee workers have been laid off. In the Charleston area, over 25 coffee professionals are known to have lost more than 50% of their income, half of which have lost 100% of their income. Every day this number grows with the increasing number of cafes and restaurants closing or reducing hours. In an industry with already unsustainable living wages, this has severely disrupted the livelihoods of the valuable people you regularly trust to get you through your day.
We all depend on you! As little as $5 can help your favorite coffee worker afford food, rent, and bills.
CHS Does Coffee will be collecting virtual “tips” to build a relief fund on behalf of our coffee community until employment is reinstated or until other forms of aid can be provided. From this relief fund, money is allocated evenly to displaced coffee workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This “tip jar” is currently open for all coffee professionals (barista, roaster, etc.) who require financial assistance and report income loss greater than 50%.
