A small team of regulars from two Kidderminster pubs and brewery are teaming up to raise money for Kidderminster hospital’s cancer treatment unit, Millbrook Suite*.
Many of us have been touched by cancer and have family and friends who have been, and continue to be treated at Millbrook Suite who provide fantastic physical and emotional support.
The team are embarking on a 100-mile bike ride in and around the Worcestershire area and, in addition, both pubs (The Weavers Real Ale House and The Chester Tavern) will also be hosting a 100-mile static bike riding competition in support of the guys on the road. So a combined target of 300 miles!
The team are anticipating the ride to take around 8 hours so a mammoth effort. We would really appreciate your support in sponsoring the team on the road and also those of us who will be clubbing together on the static bike rides to match the 100 miles.
About Millbrook Suite:
Millbrook Suite is a chemotherapy unit, however, over the years treatments for cancers have progressed and they now provide many different types of treatments such as immunotherapy, hormone, targeted therapies. Millbrook suite treats both oncological and haematological cancers, also other haematological disorders (that are not malignant).
They aim to provide care for all their patients with professionalism and kindness. Currently there are 10 chairs in the treatment area, and 4 clinic rooms for patients to be reviewed in.
In April Millbrook Suite will be moving to a larger unit in Kidderminster hospital to provide the ability for more patients to be treated. This move is costly, and the staff really want the unit to be welcoming and calming for everyone that visits, so your donations will help to provide a nurturing environment, and additional equipment that will help to support patients at a very challenging time.
*All money raised will be donated directly to Millbrook Suite and not to the hospital’s trust fund.
