Charity volunteer Kenya trip in support of Inspire Afrika

Hi, my name is Andy. I am a primary teacher and tutor with a strong belief that all children should have the opportunity to gain an education. Working in the education sector has not only provided me with many fantastic experiences working with children, it has also afforded me the privilege of working with many likeminded and extremely talented individuals. One such individual - Paula Burns - introduced me to the work, help and support that she and other volunteers continually provide to the children of Malindi, a village in Kenya, through the charity 'Inspire Afrika'.

In the UK our children have the right to a free education from the state with everything required to deliver it provided, a luxury which many children born and raised in less developed parts of the world such as Malindi do not share.

Many of these more remote areas rely upon the invaluable work of volunteers to provide and maintain spaces and resources for educational provision and other basic facilities such as sanitary spaces for food preparation.

In July 2025, my daughter and I are going on a charity volunteer trip with some of the founding members of the charity Inspire Afrika. During this trip we will be working with other charity members and supporters to update, maintain and build new education, sanitation and food preparation areas as well as providing much needed educational support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to give something back to those who will really benefit from it. However, such support requires funding and we could really use your help to raise funds to contribute towards travel, materials and tools for the various ongoing projects we'll be involved in, transport and basic accommodation.
