Charity Run to support Chepang children in Nepal

Namaste,           

                 Firstly, I would like to appreciate your time and effort in visiting my fundraising. I am Pte. Prem Bdr Thapa from CAT DET, 10 QOGLR currently assigned with 1 RGR in Brunei. I will take on the challenge of running 10 km uphill every day for 10 days, covering 100 km of distance around the hills of Pokhara, to encourage the contribution of food and stationery materials for Chepang children studying at Shree Sahabeer Basic School, Gumlek, Tanahun, Nepal.

 

The Chepang Tribe is one of the oldest communities living in the hills of central Nepal and has often been characterised as the poorest of Nepal's poor. Many Chepang cannot read or write due to lack of education.

 

Villagers have brought Chepang children from chitwan and enrolled them to Shree Sahabeer Basic School in Gumlek, Tanahun. However, raising funds for the continuation of their education, accommodation, and food has become difficult for the villagers. Hence, they have sought help with Pahar Trust Nepal (PTN) who help to builds education and health facilities in rural Nepal.

 

I have had the opportunity to visit the school and the community. The children are desperate for education, and the villagers are struggling to help. Having known the work and contribution provided by the PTN closely, I have liaised with them to help the school run smoothly.

 

The funds raised at the end of the charity will go towards food and stationery for Chepang children studying at Shree Sahabeer Basic School. The PTN and I, will work together to make the charity event successful.

 

Lastly, your donation is all these unfortunate little children need. I would like to invite you all to be a part of a change and let’s bring a smile to their innocent little faces that are waiting for opportunities.
