Charity Bike Ride - Leo's Angels

Hi, My name is Ben and I am Dad to a beautiful boy Leo who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly 2 weeks after his 11th birthday in December 2023. Leo was a beautiful boy and bought a smile to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.

6 months after Leo passed away we were informed the cause of his death was SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) . Our family, our lives will never be the same again. We miss him terribly.

SUDEP was not something we had ever been warned about until Leo died.

Our family are now channelling our grief into purpose. We have founded a nonprofit Leo's Angels which is focussed on harnessing technology to transform epilepsy care in memory of our incredible boy who has inspired us so much. www.leos-angels.com

My wife Emma and I will be making it our personal goal to do what we can to support other families and other children like Leo and hopefully spare another family from suffering the loss we did.

But we have a massive fundraising goal and we need your support.

So here is where I come in.

I will be joined by a group of incredible friends (of a certain age….) who have offered their time, their support and their determination to tackle a huge challenge. Brev, Jamie, Clive, Dave, Ray, Stuart and myself will be attempting a bike ride from Kent, which is where we live to Woolacombe, North Devon. 260 miles away. This is by far one of the biggest challenges I have ever tried to so, that’s for sure.

The ride will take place between 17th September - 20th September 2025.

Why Woolacombe.? Easy........ We will be arriving at our destination Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park on Saturday 20th September as that was one of Leo's favourite places in the whole wide world.

Since Leo died we can see how much the epilepsy community deserve so much more support that we are able to give with the resources we have available to us.

Whatever you can donate, no matter how big or how small, we would be enormously grateful. Every penny we raise will go towards making a difference to the lives of families and children like Leo. SUDEP cases are going up, not down. We need to change this. Together.

In Leo's memory that is the least we can do.
