Hey everyone, my name is Melanie Simms, founder of Boards N’ Bliss Charcuterie, based in Toronto, Ontario. Each year since starting my business, I’ve made it a priority to give back through a charity initiative that feels deeply personal to me.

In my first year, I organized a fundraiser that provided charcuterie meals for every youth at the Covenant House Toronto . In my second year, I had the honour of donating and speaking at a fundraising event for the Red Door Shelter , where my contribution became the first silent auction prize to reach full market value. Now, stepping into my third year, I’m beyond grateful to continue this annual tradition by supporting the YWCA Women’s Shelter in Hamilton.

This holiday season, we’ll be aiming to feed 150+ women with beautifully prepared mini charcuterie boxes and fresh croissant sandwiches. These meals are made with care, creativity, and heart! Because every person deserves moments that remind them they’re worthy of something special. It’s not just about food; it’s about restoring warmth, joy, and dignity through experiences that uplift the spirit.

I believe that kindness, when shared through something as simple as a thoughtfully prepared meal, can reignite hope. Especially during the holidays, when giving carries a little extra meaning, this project reminds me why I started Boards N’ Bliss to being with. To create connection, comfort, and community.
