Hi I'm Irene, born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria, I have resided in the US for 22 years, and have called Mobile, AL, home for the last 8 years. Even though I now call Mobile home, my heart for my family and friends in Nigeria remains strong. When I am able I make contributions to the church in my hometown in Nigeria, Chapel of the Resurrection, who supports not only the church congregation, but community members in providing assistance for education, feeding ministries, social welfare and more. My hope and desire is to be able to make more regular and substantial contributions to the Chapel of the Resurrection to better serve their community needs, and I need your help to do that. My goal is to start with raising $5,000 that could be contributed to the Chapel of the Resurrection to aid in materials for new property they have acquired for farming in their community to create more sustainable food sources. Additionally, donations will to continue to aid their educational assistance that ranges from scholarships to basic school needs like uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and supplies, and their other ministries as needed. With your help we can make a bigger impact on a community that seeks to serve one another and care for one another.

An August Update:

We are so excited that since starting this campaign we have raised $825! We have so much gratitude for your generosity, and we wanted to share an update about how these donations are making a difference for Chapel of the Resurrection in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Since beginning our assistance campaign for the Chapel of the Resurrection, they have been able to assist in needs for community members for burial expenses, housing assistance, medical needs and procedures, and farming equipment. The last couple of months we have been able to fulfill the application requests of eight community members, five of them being farmers. Currently we have 4 requests pending that include education expenses, medical expenses, and housing assistance. Every week we have community members who express needs so anything we can do to assist them aides in cultivating a stronger community for all of our neighbors. Again, we are grateful for your support, and we look forward to being able to continue to share and assist our community members and neighbors in need. Blessings!
