Tregargus Trust CIO is a charity working to protect the historic Tregargus Valley in St Stephen, near St Austell, Cornwall. Since 2002, we’ve cared for this 35-acre site, once home to eight water-powered china stone grinding mills. Sadly, most have been lost—only five remain, without their original machinery. Our aim as a Trust is to advance the education of the public by the preservation and maintenance of the historic, domestic and industrial building sites and artefacts situated in the valley. In an effort to keep the valley open to the public we need to constantly raise funds to help pay for maintenance costs, safety features and responding to visitor requests.
and that’s where you come in, if you enjoy visiting the valley please consider giving us a donation to keep up our good work.
Your donation will help us:
• Manage the vegetation
• Keep pathways clear
• Create more parking and give guided tours for visitors
• Signpost the valley’s rich history through walks and displays
• Restore the nearby Chapel Mill into an accessible museum
We’ve made great progress with a small budget and community support. With your help, we can turn this valley and Chapel Mill into a vibrant community asset.
Every donation counts—and brings us closer to saving this unique piece of Cornwall’s heritage.
