Chantal’s Children

Hello!
My name is Mikayla. I am here fundraising on behalf of my sister, Chantal Juteau.
This journey starts back in March of 2020, when Chantal (28 at the time) had to go get a biopsy done. She was at physio one day, when the practitioner there was trying to remove fluid from her back. A little back story on why she was in physio, is because of major pain from a head on collision previous. This biopsy of course did not come back good. This is when we all found out that our Chantal, has cancer.
Chantals tumor was removed, however, due to what we believe the cause of Covid, Chantal was never given a full body scan. So once the tumor was removed, she was sent on her way.
If I believe correctly, 6 months, or a year later, she had a scan to check up. This is when we learned that the cancer was elsewhere. This cancer, being something extremely rare, mesenchymal chondrosarcoma.
Chantal in the next upcoming years, was on different types of chemos, radiation, anything and everything to slow the spread, knowing that this type of cancer was not going to just “go away”.
Chantal (now 33) had pushed herself for nearly 4 years now, constantly fighting for her two beautiful children, Bryden (now 11) and Olivia (now 9).
Unfortunately, in September, we found out that Chantal had a bowel blockage, this being caused by the large tumor in her abdomen. We were admitted to the hospital for a week. But a week after being discharged, Chantal ended up in the hospital again, where they removed her from her current treatment, and hasn’t left since.
Chantal was moved to hospice in the beginning of November. They are keeping her comfortable with her meds, but as we all know, this is all they can do for her.
Chantals biggest fear through this whole journey, was her children. Making sure she was able to leave something to them, making sure they would be loved and cared for, and comfortable in their lives.
THIS is what I’m here to do. I’m raising the funds to put aside for her two babies. My niece and nephew. Two of the strongest, most caring kids I have ever met in my life.
Chantal and her husband split up prior to the cancer, and she has been living with our mother and father throughout the whole journey.
If you’ve made it this far, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart for reading this. Anything and everything means the world to all of us, but most importantly, to my sister, Chantal.
Please help me give her this last Christmas present ❤️
