I am thrilled to be heading back to Guatemala for the fourth time this summer on a six-day mission trip to help families living in extreme poverty. Our team will be working on several construction projects, spreading the love of Christ to the niños through fun VBS activities, and providing shoes, clothing, personal hygiene kits, school supplies, and Bibles to dozens of women and children. We will also be building a children's ministry room for a small church and helping support the pastor there.

The video includes a few photos from last year's trip and pictures of one of the projects we'll be tackling this time. The families we're helping live in shacks and shanties with dirt floors and missing walls. We will be shoring up the structures and fixing roofs to make them more weatherproof, and building additional spaces for cooking and sleeping at a couple locations. Members of our team also will be training local volunteers to teach children's Bible studies and lead worship at a small church outside of the city center.

Thank you so much for partnering with me on this mission trip to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I pray God will multiply 100-fold the seed you sow, and regardless of whether you are able to contribute toward travel costs, I covet your prayers. Together, we can bring God's unfailing mercy and love to all the nations!

Eight people currently share one bedroom in the home of Jose and Mariela. Our construction team will be building a 10' x 12' room to provide additional sleeping quarters and will be repairing/replacing the walls and ceiling in the kitchen area (below) to better withstand seasonal heavy winds and rains.

Here are snapshots of a couple previous kitchen projects, to give you an idea of how much can be improved with a little time, sweat, and sheet metal!

We also will be building a kitchen for Jose and Gladis (below) using materials donated through another organization.

And of course, we have lots of fun activities planned for the niños at several locations, and we will be giving clothing, sandals, and backpacks to more than 100 children!
