What is the UrFuture mobile app

UrFuture is a digital platform committed to providing consistent, intentional, and tangible support for young people from foster care, adoption, justice-impacted backgrounds, and first-generation college students connecting them to the resources, tools, and opportunities they need to support their growth, stability, and success.

Why This Matters

Each year, more than 24,000 young people age out of the system with little to no support. Research shows that 80% of prison inmates have experienced foster care, 91% of gang members have been in foster care, and 70% of foster youth will rely on government assistance within four years of aging out. Together, we can change that. Your gift creates opportunities and gives them a chance at a stable, successful future.

Who Is the Person Behind It?

My name is LilCrystal Dernier and I’m the founder of UrFuture. I have more than 20 years of experience in child welfare both as a professional and as someone with lived experience, having aged out of foster care at 18. I’ve poured my heart, time, and $5,500 of my own resources into UrFuture because I believe every young person deserves a fair shot at stability and success. Now, I’m asking for your partnership to help bring this vision to life.

What We Need & How It Will Be Used

We are raising $6,500 to fully fund the development of the UrFuture app, broken into four key milestones:

Alpha Delivery $1,500

Beta Delivery $1,500

Final Handover $1,000

Total: $6,500

This funding covers design, development, testing, and launch, plus:

3 months of app maintenance (free)

1 month of social media marketing (included)

If we don’t reach the full goal, we’ll prioritize completing the Alpha and Beta phases, ensuring the core functionality of UrFuture is ready to impact lives.
