Chaney Tree Care Crew - Maui Fire Relief
Donation protected
Help local Lahaina business Chaney Tree Care recover from this unprecedented tragedy and start the clean up process!
On Tuesday August 8th, 2023, Nathan Chaney and his family + friends + co-workers fled their home in Lahaina, Maui as a wildfire destroyed their entire town. While they are all thankfully safe and accounted for, every member of their team lost their house and livelihoods in the wildfire.
Nathan fortunately salvaged most of his tree trimming equipment - chainsaws, wood-chipper, climbing gear, dump truck, etc. This will all be used to help restore our precious Lahaina town. His coworkers and friends would love nothing more than to stay and continue clearing downed trees and debris from neighborhoods still standing in the wake of the recent storms. Replanting is necessary.
This page is being made to help give Nathan and his employees the chance to rebuild what they lost. The West Maui community needs these services now more than ever. The clean up project is tremendous and they will need to purchase additional tools needed to do so. The funds will also be used to support the loss of income for our team.
The crew at Chaney Tree Care includes: Austin Welk, Clayton (Claydo) York and James Wheeler. A tight knit group of guys who all lost their homes to the fire along with the means to earn an income.
Nathan is an incredible father, boss, friend and boat captain. I’ve seen him quite literally give the shirt off his back to people in need.
As I write this, I am filled with a heavy heart, knowing that the town we hold dear has suffered immeasurable losses. We stand united and determined to rebuild the lives and neighborhoods that have been shattered by the recent fires.
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated and even if you can't help, please pass the word on to anyone you feel might be able to!
We will clean Lahaina up. We will rebuild. We will replant.
