Hi, this is Denis O'Regan, Musical Director of Canto - a free community choir based in Barryroe, West Cork. It is free to take part, there is no audition and no previous choir experience is necessary.

Over the last fourteen months we have borrowed and hired chairs but they are sometimes needed for other events so I really would love the choir to have their own permanent set of 60 comfortable chairs. We really could do with these chairs by Monday 8 December (as the next day the chairs we hire are needed elsewhere).

Here's some more information about Canto.

People are welcome whether they are experienced musicians or a complete beginners - whatever age or ability.

The aim is to introduce folks to a wide variety of genres including Rock, Classical, Sacred, Gospel, Pop , Traditional, Jazz, Rounds, World Music, Musicals, Madrigals, Contemporary and the down-right Experimental! Participants are shown the basics of reading music and learn how to sing in harmony. Above all there is Fun, Laughter and Community.
