Chad’s Big Swim — Powered by Sophie
On July 9, 2026, I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet: swimming 100km — the entire length of Lake of the Woods — from Sable Island to Kenora. It will consist of 10 marathon swims of 10km each day until I finish! (Mother Nature pending)
This swim is powered by my daughter, Sophie.
Sophie was born prematurely at 32 weeks and needed immediate heart surgery at SickKids Hospital. At just one year old, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, leading to multiple surgeries at Shriners Hospital for Children.
Today, Sophie is 15 and thriving — a dedicated para swimmer, a Canadian Para Swimming record holder, and the owner of several Ontario records. None of this would have been possible without the incredible care and support received.
This swim is our way of saying thank you — and giving back.
