Cha Cha The Dreamer (African Kiddies Cartoon)

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

As the father of two beautiful children born and being raised in the diaspora, I realized that my children were embracing the culture of where we live, through children's programmes and socialization with other children. They are, however growing up without knowledge of the culture of their father. They were growing up not having access to stories about Africa, which has been distilled to the basic level which toddlers will understand.

It was Victor Hugo who said, "Nothing can stop an idea whose time can come". It is rather ironic that the conception of this project coincided with the time when the collective consciousness of being 'brown-skinned' of 'Black Lives Matter'. Indeed the time has come to teach our children, whether home or abroad about the pride of being 'Proudly African'.

We want to instill black pride in our children from a young age, and that is why we have created this  series for children. We will like to introduce to you "Cha Cha, the dreamer". If you remember 'Tales by Moonlight' as a child, and you remember the joys of listening to the antics of the tortoise, then you will identify with Cha Cha and her dog.

ChaCha has a talking dog called Co Co that takes her on adventures every night. Through their adventures, we hope to inspire and educate children on the great African traditions and cultures. We hope to explore African food, music, dance, languages, the stories behind pan-africanism, the independence of African countries from colonialism, amongst others.

We hope to cover this though a weekly of a 10-minute duration, 2D animation for children between the ages of 3-6 years old that tells African stories.

This venture is a noble project for the sake of posterity, and we hope you will partner with us to bring our stories to fruition. Our goal is to make it as widely accessible as possible so that our children can be inspired from a tender age by the rich images, vibrant colours, exhilarating music, and stories about people who look like them.

WE hope you will help us make this project a reality by donating to our crowdfunding.
